The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

so i'm alive. sorta. yay. so more filler spam journalizing!

first of all, thanks so much to those who notified me about that naruto art thief. seriously, it's kind of sad to steal something drawn so poorly xD;; i'm tempted to do an artwork that addresses the thieves, with their "lol, it took me soooo long to do it" while blatantly, there is the original artist's watermark on it =_=

so. yeah. artworks. i feel the need to clean up my gallery because honestly, i find it embarrassing to look at. sadly, i have my "garbage sentiment", meaning i don't have the heart to scrap anything. a conflict, indeed. also, i've seen a pattern that during 09 i've been kind of regressing. a lot. i have a ways to go as per usual.

music-wise, i have been recently obsessing over k-pop. darn wondergirl's english release of "nobody" ._. so catchy and addicting. and girl's generation of "gee". i swear, songs these days, all you need is a beat and the repetition of one word, and you're hooked. let me be in the music industry pls. faye wong's "fable" album is beautiful, though <3
