i've already ranted on my facebook with pics... but i will have a longer description of the epicness that happened yesterday. so i shall nonsensically spam/rant/being minor (actually "very", and stupidly) fangirlish about X Japan. I won't say I'm an elitist or the most hardcore fan out there, but I do have some favs like drain, kurenai and forever love <3 the concert did not disappoint. very epic night indeed.

PRECURSOR CONCERT RAMBLING:

oh yes, before going onto my X ranting, Vampires Everywhere. i think if there wasn't the existence of twilight, as well as auto-tuning metal, i would think they're ok. but i guess that's how they roll. auto-tuning vampires xP

so i pretty much was on main floor, 4th row, waaaay to the left; i dubbed it the pata and heath vision as i had a freakish good view of the two. i had a pretty good view of yoshiki, decent view of toshi, but could not see sugizo at all from my end, but he did often visit our little corner x3 actually, all the members at one point gave our corner a visit, so it was all good. though i was slightly envious of those in first row, as they pretty much were sprawled in the edge of the stage o_o

since the location is massey hall, there is a certain elegance about it, but for some reason i think it makes us feel a bit 'stiff'. or maybe i just prefer mosh pits to keep the energy going, i dunno. there seems to be distance or it seems harder to rock out with chairs in front and behind us, i guess? don't get me wrong, the audience was spaztastic, but in my corner, there were also loads of people just standing with their arms crossed?? c'mon people, participation~!!!     

told from a friend, it seems that the venue was about 70%~75% full, which is pretty good, massey is quite huge.  

CONCERT RAMBLING:

the opening was nerve wracking; everyone screaming, while doing the infamous X pose in the dark. i loved how my friend said it seemed like a cult ritual xD;; but a rather awesome one to witness and experience. so it was all anxious waiting with some epic music building up, 'til we saw a huge red, twitching X on the screen: "introducing X Japan. Japan. Japan. Japan. J-J-Japan", then screaming commenced.

as for the setlist, i will steal from setlist.com, 'cause bitch has poor memory in terms of order:

jade (epic starter)
rusty nail (godly)
silent jealousy (awesomesauce)
drain (sung my lungs out <333)
violin/piano duet... and then classical intro to kurenai (impressive nonetheless)
kurenai ( crimson stage of love, indeed. i felt horrible for not knowing the lyrics well, as toshi had received a semi silent chorus from us x__x;; )
born to be free (i have grown to love this song even more, seriously, it's awesome, the music is awesome, the lyrics are awesome. everything)
drumming solo (crazzzzy)
I.V. (in the rain! find a way! and gongs!!!)

encore:
endless rain (everyone singing together was quite... i have no words to describe the moment other than magical._. though i think we got a bit ADHD when toshi started filming us?)
art of life (was literally paralyzed by the performance)

every member was just... awesome. haha, i have little to no vocabulary at this point (and in general)... but let's randomly recap:
- toshi's raw powerful vocals and pimpin outfits. and water spraying.
- yoshiki's mad, insane drumming/piano skills; his piano solo for art of life... speechless
- sugizo's somewhat mystical guitar antics and beautiful violin playing. and look at his crazy bottle throws .__.
- heath rocking out on bass, gesturing the crowd to keep up our energy.
- pata being chill as hell playing the guitar, but awesome at doing it.

and we shan't forget hide ♥

other random highlights (in random order):
- toshi visiting yoshiki from behind, playing with his drums
- toshi randomly visiting heath from behind, dancing/doing his own thing, haha. heath turns his head and starts laughing.
- toshi holding/waving the japanese/canadian flag, "REVIVAL X 4EVER LOVE" <3
- being visited in our corner (literally, the corner where the amps are, and in which i was in front of):
   sugizo charging at us and going crazy on guitar while switching places with pata; we feel loved
   toshi's visit to spray us with water
   yoshiki's visit to spray us with water.. sadly was not sprayed on, as we were right underneath the gallery
   heath going waaay to the left on the ledge of the stage during kurenai and i failed to get the epic shot =_=
   and our homeboy pata, doing his own thing xD
- yoshiki pouring water on himself with water bottles, as well as on his drums (?)
- yoshiki and gongs during IV. epic epic gongs.
- yoshiki's speech during the encore ( his voice was cracking ;x; );
   "because you guys are here, we are still here"
   "also we brought hide here as well" (our hysterical chanting for hide ensued <3)
   "you know what? we're going to keep fucking going!"

i absolutely loved the atmosphere they created; having us mesmerized, and involved in the music. i pretty much flailed wildly while i sung/screamed til my voice got destroyed but i will still highlight us singing endless rain together.... because that was a touching nice moment for everyone. we were just swaying our hands in the air together during the song, xD but everything from the singing participation to the infamous x-jumping, it was truly an amazing experience. and their little antics after the concerts were just fun to watch; from camwhoring, to their signature jump, to throwing bottles (sugizo was the only one who can manage to throw far up to the balcony o_o)

but it was a hella epic night that i won't forget. lookin' forward for their 2011 album
