so first my mac update~ well, my logic board died so they had to have it replaced. they mentioned that it would not affect my hard drive. w00t. a week later, i get it back, it does not get past the loading screen. actually, it just loads for about a minute and shuts down. i take it back to get it checked again. guess what, my partition is corrupt and my hard-drive is on it's way to hell x,x soo... blah. i have to wait for about another 1 - 1 1/2 weeks until i can get back my laptop... very bad.
but miraculously, i had my stuff backed up, in return for me missing the first day of my east asian contemporary class... OTL... i will elaborate the details of my first week:
motion graphics - seems interesting. i like flipbooks xP
production (???) - interesting due to the fact that i want to learn how to print and stuff. confusing in a sense that i'm a n00b and i do not understand anything about the quality and specs of printing anything
typography - i gotta get studying with mah typography again =_= seriously.
thesis - fearful. ever so fearful. will brush up on my proposals:
a) examining and evaluating the commodification and branding of post-secondary education in public spaces
b) deconstructing, re-evaluating and re-appropriating the perception of beauty in a multicultural diverse setting
... aren't i wordy... not sure how my prof likes them =X
east asian contemporary art - seems interesting. i'm pretty sure the prof hates me for skipping ;_; .... but... broken mac..! i know, "no excuses", so i guess she'll have to hate me.
...so first week.... 4/5 classes... it's a whole new realm. very researched based now. like... 99%? hell will be unleashed within the next week or so. that i am sure of.

but when i checked in today, they said my hard drive is covered, but they don't cover the battery =_= they said it had to be within the first year of warranty..? i dunno, cause i asked them about the whole "less than 300 cycles i get for free" dealy, and they didn't know x_X so to comfort me, they're like "you don't have to pay more than [x] amount written here"... i was hoping more of a "you get it replaced for free" kinda thing.. but.. yeah ._.
i swear, i think these macs are made to explode after 3 years x_x

but yeah, they like, showed me the pricing of the battery (i was so tired and blind at that point because i thought it said $1000 something and i freaked out slightly) thus started my spamming of questions and me implying that i should get it for free b/c of that less than 300 cycles thingy... the genius dude says "i'm sorry, i don't know about that" and then went on with the it had to be within the first year of warranty x_x
he said it may/may not be charged if the repairing people deem it to be =_=
But yes, the fairview people are my friends.
and w00t, they gave me a new battery for free~!
