I know I have been quite inactive the past month, alot of private stuff going on and upcoming exams, but I will try to be more active again from now on. Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

Music Is My Inspiration ContestWell guys I've decided to start my own contest, because I had awesome feedback on the idea ^_^
It'll be my first contest that I've held...EVER! So it's very exciting :3

hope you all enjoyed and celebrated your new years well. i know that i'm gonna end up marking most of my work with '09 til june x_x but anyway, gotta start the new year off fresh, not... stupid. need to be hardcore with my resolutions or at least... take some consideration into account.

but yes, random movie blabbage. the curious case of benjamin button! it is like big fish, and i loved big fish. except this tale is about a woman telling her daughter a story about how she met her husband, benjamin, who aged backwards. benjiman's journey was a magical, heartfelt and seriously depressing one x_x loved how they used the old folks home throughout the film and that dude who got struck by lightning 7 times XD;; but no, the movie was awesome o_o

other movies to blab.. higurashi live action. haha, it's pretty good 'cause i had no expectations XD;; music is lovely, need to find the ost. decent amount of blood. keiichi's actor is funny, he always looks like he's smiling when he's supposed to be in fear or pain... and that needled ohagi didn't seem to phase him x_x and damn their cheap scares to hell, rena ain't a ghost =__= but the ending scene was good, and saddening; how they created the atmosphere of their final happy days before they were destroyed. music was especially powerful... think it is from the show, i just dunno... when.
um, nothing else to rant atm. school is coming soon. yuck.
